Beginner levels
Build the fundamentals of script and sound.
Focused on building the absolute fundamentals of the script, phonetics, and early word formation.
Beginner 1: Foundations of Script & Sound
- Alphabet Sequencing: Mastering vowel and consonant sounds in their traditional order.
- Random Identification: Recognizing vowel and consonant sounds out of order to ensure true mastery.
- Early Blending: Practicing basic words and sentences using various combinations of letters.
Beginner 2: Applied Script & Half Letters
- Baahrakhari Practice: Mastering the attachment of vowel symbols (Maatraa) to consonants.
- Targeted Reading: Rigorous reading practice of words and short sentences for each vowel symbol.
- Introduction to Conjunctions: Learning and identifying “half letters” (ligatures).
- Advanced Blending: Rigorous word and sentence practice utilizing half letters.
Elementary levels
Move from letters into everyday communication.
Focused on the transition from letters to real-world communication and everyday vocabulary.
Elementary 1: Essential Expressions
- Foundational Conversing: Simple dialogues, essential Nepali phrases, greetings, and introductions.
- Everyday Life: Conversational practice centered around food, work, and family.
Elementary 2: Situational Fluency
- Daily Routines: Simulating everyday tasks with situational vocabulary and fluid, simple dialogues.
- Culture & Travel: Discussing Nepali festivals, cultural norms, shopping, and travel scenarios.
Intermediate levels
Develop comprehension and structured responses.
Focused on reading comprehension, vocabulary expansion, and progressively more structured verbal and written answers.
Intermediate 1 — Short texts · comprehension · verbal answers

Focus area: Simple vocabulary & comprehension

Advanced 1: Long-Form Comprehension
- Extended Reading: Engaging with 7–10 paragraph stories, essays, and deep-dive texts.
- Analytical Writing: Formulating detailed, long-form written answers to complex comprehension prompts.
Advanced 2: Literary & Cultural Mastery
- Native Media & Literature: Analyzing authentic poems, travelogues, complex newspaper excerpts, and contemporary literature.
- Media Immersion: Watching and critiquing full Nepali films.
- Deep Analysis: Discussing, writing, and analyzing deep cultural contexts, character development, and complex thematic plots.
Flexible instruction for different learners and goals.
Instruction is available for children (Pre-K–12), college students, adults, researchers, professionals, diplomats, travelers, trekkers, and others preparing to live, work, or travel in Nepal. Classes can be online or in person and arranged for individuals or small groups.
